In early September I flew to Oslo to help celbrating Bodil's 70th birthday.
I was met at the airport by Dag and Anne Karin
The dinner party
Astrid and Andreas put on a formal dinner party in her honor.
The table was set for 19 guests.
There were many speaches and toasts. Here is Dag telling stories about Bodil.
Andreas gave a very moving toast.
Many of the guests were members of a sewing club that they started in highschool. Here is Bodil's good friend Kirsti (now a supreme court judge) saying some words.
Most of the guests were unkown to me. I think his name is Gogo.
Tone Bjørneboe, Astrid and Andreas' aunt.
Andreas standing next to another supreme court judge.
The Dinner Party
Astrid and Tom did a lot of work, but they still looked like they had a good time.
Sailing the Oslo Fjord in Dag's boat.
As is his practice, Dag invited Bodil and I on a cruise in his sailboat.
The weather was great and Anne Karin enjoyed the sun.
Luckily I did not hit anything.
The birthday child.
The boat was quite comfortable.
The dog also enjoys sailing. Dag's beard is gone now. Too bad, I thought Dag looked good with a beard.
With classmates at Aker Brygge.
I also got a chance to meet with some of my highschool buddies for beer and shrimp at a floating resturant in Oslo harbor.
Anders is a psychologist
Pål was the Norwegian ambassador to Chile.
Toby has a condo in Fort Lauderdale.
Nini helped me with my french lessons.

Sightseeing
After the get-together I did some sightseeing. Here is Stortorget, Oslo's main square.
Christian IV was a Danish king that relocated Oslo after a fire in the 1600's.
While a student, I worked as a longshore man on the docks in Oslo harbor.
Here is Bodil at a small outdoor resturant unknown to any tourist.
What a smile.
At Andreas' house.
The last day we were invited to Ingun and Andreas's house for cake.
